Ms. Leilah maintains the structure of Suzuki lessons, (learning by ear/rote) which requires parental involvement until the student is mature enough to handle lessons on their own (somewhere between 10 - 12 years old). This allows for higher success rates and better quality of at-home practices. She also focuses on "Traditional" style learning, with an emphasis on Notereading skills. This unique and balanced approach encourages developing well-rounded, diverse, and fully capable musicians.
Once a month piano group lessons are required, in addition to private lessons!
This offers an element to piano lessons that is not typically offered in a home music teaching studio environment. It adds a very important peer-to-peer component that may not be offered in typical at-home studio's. This gives the students an opportunity to perform monthly, as well as get to know their peers and learn from each other.
